Exuma Bahama's Sandal's Emerald Bay
December 9, 2019 through December 14, 2019
We arrived on the tarmac in the Bahama's at approximately 1:30pm and felt the heat from the sun kissing our faces, knowing that back home in Ohio it was around 40 degrees we couldn't help but feel giddy to begin our week at the Sandal's Emerald Bay, all inclusive resort. Everything went very smooth from the airport to the hotel. Once we arrived we were ushered into a waiting room where we were served their signature cocktail the "Bahama Breeze", a tasty green drink. Our rooms were not available so they took our luggage, explained what our food options were and told us to come back at 3:00pm. Kayla's TRAVEL TIP- pack a carry on, or grab something more comfortable to wear before they take your luggage. Since we came from cold weather, we were a bit uncomfortable in jeans.
The first restaurant we ate at was "Soy". This is a non-reservation restaurant. Kayla's TRAVEL TIP- Sandal's resorts have several on-site restaurants that are reservation only. Book them as soon as you can so you can try everything. Soy was so good, the wait staff was wonderful and I wish we could have eaten there more than once. Make sure you order more than what you think you will need, portions can be relatively small compared to what most American's are used to
December 10th, 2019 Bombay
The restaurant Bombay was SO good, if you like Indian food! I loved the way they served the food and how authentic everything felt. Kayla's TRAVEL TIP- As you may know, employees of Sandal's are not allowed to accept tips. Try to compliment as many of them as you can on Sandals.blazeloop.com this can help them with rewards here and there and I know everyone loves a compliment. BUT.... be sure to do it before you leave the resort, I was told you cannot access it after you leave.
My fiancé Andy and I taking a long 3-4 mile run down the beach through the golf course. I highly advise this. If you're not a runner, walk..... the views are worth it! Plus I highly recommend getting some exercise in on an all inclusive vacay anyway.
December 11th, 2019 Kimono's
We wanted to scuba dive while here but the wind had other plans. All water activities were canceled all week while we were there. Please keep this in mind if you plan on going in the winter months. Although, the Bahama's are still warm they do get heavy winds during their winter. Kimono's was amazing, it is the hibachi, Japanese food which we love. This restaurant is on several other Sandal's resorts and never disappoints.
December 13th, 2019 Robert's Island Adventure
My absolute favorite day of the entire trip and I couldn't wait to blog about this. We booked a tour through "Robert's Island Adventures" NOT through Sandal's, now I would NOT have felt safe doing this in some countries, but the Bahama's felt like a much safer country than many that I have been too. Plus, we met another couple that was going the same day as us and suggested it. So, the day started off a little chili with some showers, but the tour went on as we traveled by speed boat under a double rainbow toward the island with iguana's. This was like nothing I have ever seen in my life. Hundreds of iguana's wandering around a tropical island!! We made our way to the island of pigs, again, something I have never seen. What a wild experience! We swam with nurse sharks, before going to lunch which was an adorable little Mom and Pop place on a random island. (Fact: The Bahama's is made up of 365 small islands). From there, we went to a large sandbar in the middle of the ocean where I found a Starfish and Sand Dollar. We snorkeled Thunderball Grotto, as I mentioned before it was windy and the tide was high so we couldn't go all the way underneath the Grotto, but it was wonderful. We saw some turtles and then returned home.

We had such a blast in the Bahama's, the Bahamian people are so kind and helpful. I feel so blessed that we were able to go on this adventure. Please drop any questions you may have below. Also, keep an eye out for my next post where I give tips for "Robert's Adventure Tour" a ton of helpful information I wish we would have known! You guys are kick ass, thanks for visiting.
